In the wake of the community's response to the murder of George Floyd, many of the businesses in our most vulnerable communities were destroyed. This also created a vacuum in regards to our community members having access to basic essentials that we as human beings need to function daily. It may be weeks before the grocery stores will be back up and running. People are going without much needed medication, groceries, soap, baby food, pampers, feminine hygiene products, pet food, you name it.
In response to that, Brand B Sports, in conjunction with DirectlyTo are launching a community development fund that will focus on the short and long-term challenges that are in the road ahead. In the short-term, your donation will go to the clean up, feeding and providing essential needs to our community members. In the Long-term, what is leftover will be directed to the redevelopment strategy and campaign focused on bringing businesses for our community, back to our community. It will also be used to accelerate minority owned small businesses and creating opportunity for the often marginalized citizens of this city.
