Hi, and thank you for considering donating to this cause! Laura and Annette live and work in Jacksonville, Florida and have a heart for giving back and helping kids in underserved areas.
We have been inspired by friends in other cities, and by the #BlackPantherChallenge, as so many people have been making plans to take local children to see the upcoming Marvel movie, Black Panther. Simply put, we've started this campaign because we want to join in the action and provide an opportunity for Jacksonville area youth to see the movie.
Because Black Panther is the first Black Marvel Superhero. And when children see representation of black movie stars being black leaders and heroes in a movie directed and produced by black creative minds, it will have a positive impact on how they see themselves and what they dream for in life. Therefore we are working hard to bring the #BlackPantherChallenge to Jacksonville, Fl!
We are two women with a vision to impact our community, and we've partnered with DirectlyTo, and a local Jacksonville law firm, Umanna Legal Group, (http://www.ulegalgroup.com), to bring this opportunity to as many children in Jacksonville as we can! With help from the Jacksonville, FL chapter of Communities in Schools (www.cisjax.org) we will invite children from their organization come out and see the movie.
Cost: $10 per child ticket; $5 popcorn/soda Goal: Raise enough money to bring 300 children to see Black Panther. Movie Time: Saturday, February 24th, 10am Location: AMC Regency
No donation is too small! Help us support the nation-wide #BlackPantherChallenge movement and bring our community's kids to see Black Panther!
Collected funds will be raised to purchase tickets and concessions for children involved in the Communities in Schools program. Any additional funds raised will be given as a cash donation to CIS - Jacksonville for their operational needs.
