In August 2013, a group of women with hearts to serve transformed the halls of Calvary Women's Services, a women's transitional housing program in SE D.C., into a full service day spa. Recognizing the immense value of reminding women (no matter where they live) of their inner and outer beauty, the spa day became a bi-annual event. Twice a year, notable local beauty professionals continue to volunteer their time and efforts to provide manicures, facials, makeup and hair style services to the dozens of homeless women living in transitional housing. The goal is to uplift the ladies by nurturing their inner beauty while enhancing their outer beauty and giving them the experience of being treated like the queens that they are!
Our Fall 2017 Spa Day will take place on Sunday, September 17 at 11 am and we need your help again to make this event a success as we once again, pamper homeless women living in transitional housing in Washington DC!
Financial donations are used to purchase supplies for the service providers and raffle prizes and special gift bags for the ladies that include items such as toiletries, haircare and beauty products, and personal greeting cards with inspirational messages. Additional proceeds go directly to the transitional housing organization, which also offers health, employment and education programs that empower and impact the lives of homeless women in D.C.
